My husband, Ron, and I are Tampa Bay Rays fans and like to attend the games.  Ron had won a two night stay at a Clearwater hotel. We live on the Tampa side of Tampa Bay and decided we would go over the bridge, stay at the hotel, go to a Ray’s game and take a mini vacation at the same time.  It ended up to be a great idea and this is what we did. I am not going into detail because you would get bored and not read it. Watch the video for more.

  • We left Thursday morning and went straight to St Petersburg Sunken Gardens.  Great start- If you pick up a Tampa Bay & Gulf Beaches GUIDE-MAP   there is a two for one coupon in it.  They actually have some in the lobby of the Gardens.
  • After we checked into the hotel we headed for Clearwater Beach near Pier 60.  They have free nightly entertainment at the Pier.  -Sunsets at Pier 60
  • Across the street are the docks where the fishing boats station.  We watched some of the boats come in.  All three we saw had done well that day.  I went to put more quarters in the meter and when I found Ron again he had two stringers of fish.  One was even a grouper.  Some Canadians did not have facilties for their fish so they gave them to him.
  •  We headed for dinner at Fresco’s Waterfront Bistro  near the St Petersburg Pier.  The dinner was tasty and the atmosphere could not be beat. Of course there were margaritas .  We wandered around the pier a bit and went to the top for a spectacular view.
  • We ended the night at  Paciugo for gelato. Oh My it was spructions.   It was quite busy and there was an amazing carriage ride out front.
  • Friday morning we soaked up some Vitamin D at Indian Rocks Beach. We alternated between looks for stuff along the beach, playing in the waves and vegging out. I forgot how much I loved the Gulf.
  • We found a neat place for lunch called Quaker Steak and Lube.
  • Now it was time for the main event -The Tampa Bay Rays Game. There was a plus at the Trop-  It was a free t-shirt night and there was a Village people concert. We go to watch the game but there is always something else going on.  Unfortunately the Rays lost but the concert was very entertaining.
  • Saturday morning we went to the Pinellas County Florida Botanical Gardens and the HeritigaeVillage  next to it.  The gardens are very extensive and the Historical buildings at the Heritage park were so interesting. Did I mention this is free? Great way to spend a day.
  • Headed for home

If you would like any more information on the things we did, feel free to contact me. And if you know of anyone that is looking to buy or sell real estate I  would really like an opportunity to offer my guidance.

Thank you
